Programming

Aetherica will feature three days of fantasy-related programming, with presentations, panels and workshops on all aspects of fantasy.

More details will be made available as the programme comes together. To give you an idea of what will be on offer, we are planning a number of streams:

Literature

Discussing and analysing fantasy novels, the history of fantasy and possible future directions it might take.

We also plan writing workshops and readings of original fiction.

Media

How is fantasy represented in film and television? How has the recent influx of fantasy films affected the genre?

We will also be showing a number of fantasy films, the details of which will be announced closer to the time.

Gaming

From traditional board games to complex video games, the range is enormous. As well as panels and presentations, there will be opportunities to try the games for yourself.

Miscellanea

For all those odds and ends that may not be strictly within the scope of fantasy but traditionally appeal to fantasy fans. Possible topics include costuming, Live Action Role Playing (LARP), history, mythology and science.

Fun and Games

The less serious side of the convention, and a perfect break from the heavier discussions! From making your own dragons and unicorns to building your own castle, there will be plenty to entertain children and big kids alike.

Programming will be aimed at all age groups and interests. If there is something you would like to suggest or offer, please get in touch at .

Please note that while programming of interest to children will be provided, this is not a crèche and children must be supervised by parents/guardians at all times.
